There are two ways you can think about November. You can view it as a cold damp cloudy month, cheerless with short days and long nights. Or you can see it as a welcome opportunity to hunker down, enjoy some early nights in with your dog and catch up on rest before the Christmas season gets into full swing.
Caroline and I would like to help you take the latter view. I’ll be writing about enjoyable ways to use those dark evenings, ways that will improve the quality of your sleep and increase cognitive function. I’ll also explain how to take advantage of the natural light when you can, and why it’s so important to do so.
Caroline will suggest some great ways to entertain your dog when you have to spend more time indoors, and how you can both walk safely if you go out after work when it’s dark.
Hopefully by the end of the month you’ll think about the benefits of November more often than its drawbacks, and enjoy the opportunity to coddle yourself and cuddle your dog!
All the best from us both,
Linda and Caroline
Looking forward to this as I find November and the lead up to Christmas a particularly difficult time. I hate the lack of light and the thought of such a long time until the spring, which I love. Plus over the years bad things have often happened to me and my family around this time of year which is probably why I find it so difficult and can’t wait for Christmas to be over. I find the build up to Christmas and new year particularly difficult.
I love your insightful post; they often seem to be speaking directly to me! xx
