Hi there, and as ever, a big welcome!
June means light. With our longest day coming up, we’re all feeling a welcome lift in our spirits.
But we could never appreciate the light without the darkness - the long dark periods in winter, the short times without light in summer - because you cannot know something without knowing also its absence and opposite.
This month, I’ll explain why all emotions and aspects of nature come in opposing pairs, and why we need them both to experience wellbeing. In my second post, I’ll write about a worrying new trend—toxic positivity—and why it’s so unhealthy even though it’s often embraced with the best of intentions.
Caroline will of course be turning her attention to our dogs, encouraging you to capitalise not only on the long light days, but discovering also how to work with the darker periods of each 24 hours cycle as well, to ensure a calmer, happier dog.
But for now, if it’s light (and dry!) outside, do go out and enjoy it!Â
And watch your inbox to learn more about the importance of balance in all our lives.
Warmest summer wishes,
Linda and Caroline
I LOVE this time of year. The new life everywhere, the flowers, the bees, and the promise of warm evenings spent out with the dog, tenting on a campsite by the sea. I know we need the cool days of Autumn and Winter, but I do spend most of those looking forward to the Spring and Summer :-)
